Leah Reeves

Leah Reeves (Guy) is a legally blind indigenous artist from Young, NSW. 4 years ago I lost my vision quite quickly due to an auto immune disease called Sarcoidosis, since then I've swapped my brushes for my cane, my hands and things I find on country that can be used to paint with. A proud kamillaroi woman who feels honoured to be living on wiradjuri land. I sign all my deadly painting with “Beez” as it is a cherished childhood nickname. I feel that just because I'm blind doesn't mean I can’t have a vision. I’m currently experimenting with textures and materials to create a range of sensory art for kids and adults who have sensory issues and vision impairments.
