Ashleigh Pengelly

Little Black Duck is the brainchild of Ashleigh Pengelly and is a 100% Aboriginal-owned one-woman-show combining a range of unique mediums and surfaces to create a memorable brand of functional art including her signature handpainted teapots.

Born and bred in Wagga Wagga in regional NSW on Wiradjuri Country, her Aboriginal heritage comes from her mother's side with family ties mostly around Wagga and Leeton in regional NSW, and grandmother, Eunice Higgins, the family matriarch hailing from Balranald on Mutthi Mutthi Country.

A self taught artist and business woman, Little Black Duck allows Ashleigh to forge a new path and show Wagga, Australia and the world, that First Nation's women are a formidable force.
